Supports and Services for students with disabilities

School Year 2020-2021

We are all so excited to begin working with your child(ren) this school year! Whether it is in-person, remote, or a combination of both - we are all eager to provide your child(ren) with their services and continue to make progress towards achieving - and exceeding - their IEP goals and grade-level expectations.

Class Program and Related Service Documents:

During the month of September each parent/guardian of a child recommended on their IEP for an ICT or self-contained class should have had a conversation with their child’s special education teacher. This conversation was to help create the Program Adaptations Document (PAD) that outlines how their ICT or self-contained program will look in a blended and/or remote learning model. Similar to the PAD, a Related Service Adaptations Document (RAD) was also created at the start of the school year between parents/guardians and their child's related service provider. This document outlines how related services will be provided this school year. These documents should have then been sent via email or backpacked home with your child. If you did not have a conversation with your child's teacher or related service provider(s) regarding these documents, please email Ms. Gonzalez at ​cgonzalez@ps354.org​ to confirm your contact information and to connect you to your child's team of teachers and/or service providers.

IEP Meetings

This year all IEP meetings will occur through video or telephone conference. Your child's teacher or related service provider will reach out to you to request your availability to schedule the meeting. Once a meeting time and date is determined the Notice of IEP Meeting will either be backpacked home with your child or sent electronically to you. We look forward to these meetings and other communication with you throughout the year to create and provide a program that best meets your child's needs.
