Alejandra Roma 5th Grade, Upper Division

Alejandra went to Nyack College where she received her Bachelors in Psychology. While attending Nyack College, she played Division II Cross Country and was a part of the Honors Program. She studied abroad in Cuba, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. After graduating, she began teaching at a private school called The Geneva School of Manhattan. During this time, she realized how much she loves to unite communities, and empower children and families in the classroom setting. She eventually started studying at Hunter College, where she earned a Masters in Childhood Special Education.

In her free time, Alejandra enjoys reading and research! She was part of a research team at Hunter College that studied youth cognition, disabilities and self harm in New York City. She loves being active and challenging herself in sports. She does crossfit and powerlifting, and occasionally participates in competitions. She lives in Sunnyside with her husband who is also a teacher. They have two rescue cats, Artemis and Athena.
